Disassembling and Inspecting the Oil Pump
1. Disassemble the parts according to the numerical
order presented in the illustration to the right.
2. Inspect the oil pump's drive shaft sprocket. Check
for cracks, worn teeth, or any damage.
3. Check the oil pump's drive chain for wear.
When the oil pump is installed, check the deflection
of the oil pump's chain. Measure the chain's deflec-
tion at the center of the chain along the widest span
between the two sprockets.
