    Operating Instructions 1.1 Getting to know the Network Camera 1.1.1 Main features Easy installation Installation is simplified using the Network Camera integrated web server and the web browser. No additional software is required. High Speed Motion JPEG Using the Network Camera integrated web server, Motion JPEG, up to 15 frames per second, can be displayed.

    Operating Instructions 1.1.3 Authentication – System Security feature Authentication window requires you to enter the administrator/general user ID and password. Password security can prevent the unregistered user from accessing your image from their web browsers. Authentication windows are not displayed in the default.     Operating Instructions 1.4.3 Connecting Network Camera cable Connection of the Network Camera to the PC or network device is made with category 5 cable. If the Network Camera is connected directly to the PC, a category 5 cross cable must be used. Ethernet indicator blinks when the network is active.

    Operating Instructions 1.5 Network Configuration The Network Camera parameters are set by the Configuration window. The main parameters are listed below. When the Network Camera is installed on a large network, please consult the ISP or the network administrator before proceeding so that the Network Camera does not conflict with other network devices.

    Operating Instructions 1.5.1 Simple Installation using with the Setup CD-ROM The Setup CD-ROM simplifies the installation. Insert the Setup CD-ROM and autorun should start the application automatically. This program will automatically locate the Network Camera on the network without installing any software. Once you become more familiar with the Network Camera, Setup Page configures all of its settings.
  • Page 22 Operating Instructions Insert the Setup CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive of the PC. (If the Network Camera Setup window does not appear, please click "setup.exe" in the Setup CD-ROM.)
  • Page 23 Operating Instructions Click [Network Camera Configuration]. The Network Camera List window appears. The Setup program finds all the Network Cameras connected in the LAN. The Network Camera List window lists all of the MAC addresses and IP addresses of the Network Camera on the network. Note The software on the Setup CD-ROM assists you with the installation of the Network Camera.

Ethernet hardware manufacturers purchase blocks of Ethernet addresses and assign them in sequence to their Ethernet interface hardware. No two hardware interfaces have the same Ethernet address. Ethernet address are sometimes called hardware addresses, physical addresses, media access (MAC) addresses, or layer 2 addresses.

    Operating Instructions 1.5.2 Configuring the Proxy Server The proxy server may prevent you from connecting directly to the Network Camera in some corporate environments. The web browser can set up the IP address communication without the proxy server. Please discuss the installation with the ISP or network administrator.

    Operating Instructions 2.2.1 Viewing the Top View Image screen The Top View Image screen consists of Single Camera and Multi-Camera screen. Single Camera screen has the Operation Bar on the left. Single Camera screen has an image field. The Operation Bar can control the image resolution, image quality and image size.

Buffering Image can be transferred in the Alarm/Timer mode on Page 66. Buffering Image is erased by power off, restarting, Update Firmware, resetting to Factory Default and when the Image Transfer or Name/Time window is saved and clicking [Start Capture].
  • Page 49 Operating Instructions [Start Capture] : [Start Capture] saves the individual images to the internal memory. Images are captured at fixed intervals, typically ranging 5 – 20 seconds. Network traffic, PC performance and image resolution influence the refreshing interval. The resolution is the same as the current image settings.

The refreshing interval of JPEG - Regularly Refresh should be 30 seconds or more in saving the image. To save the image, place the cursor on the image and click the right button of the mouse.

    Operating Instructions Image Transfer Image Transfer window can set the Image Transfer feature. The Network Camera can buffer images and send the images via e-mail or FTP . The request to send the image is initiated by a contact closure from an external sensors/devices connected to the I/O Connector using the Alarm mode.

The Network Camera names and IP addresses of each image must be entered to view the Multi-Camera screen. Registering IP addresses of the other Network Camera enables you to view on the Multi-Camera screen. Clicking the Camera Name on the Multi-Camera screen accesses the Single Camera screen to control the image.

    Operating Instructions LED Control LED Control window sets Power LED on/off. The Power LED will be on in the default. It can be off even in the operation. The off setting disables all the Power LED blinking. Please refer to Page 12 for the Power LED blinking. Note LED Control was added in case the administrator does not want to draw attention to the Network Camera.
  • Page 82 Operating Instructions Restart Restart window restarts the Network Camera with the parameters saved. Restarting is required when the Network setting is changed. Click [Restart] on the Setup Page. Click [Restart Now!]. • Click [Cancel] to quit. It returns to the Setup Page.

    Operating Instructions Update Firmware Update Firmware window allows the user to install the latest version of the Network Camera internal operating system. In most cases, this will never be necessary. The present firmware has undergone extensive testing and was found to be very reliable.
  • Page 84 Operating Instructions Click [Update Firmware] on the Setup Page. Depending on the speed you are connected to the Internet at, the process may take 3 – 5 minutes. Click [Update Firmware]. Please wait about 1 minute. Note If you click [Update Firmware], operation can not be canceled. If canceled, please refer to 4.2 Troubleshooting.

  • Page 88: Interfacing To The I/O Connector

    Operating Instructions 3.1 Interfacing to the I/O Connector The Alarm mode in Image Transfer feature requires the external sensors/devices to be connected to the digital input terminal of the I/O Connector. The sensor is customer provided and can be a door sensor or infrared red intruder sensor. In most applications a simple contact closure is all that is required.

    Operating Instructions 3.2 Network Camera reset procedure – default settings If the user forgets the settings or passwords, the Network Camera can be easily reset to the default settings. With power on, press the CLEAR SETTING button for about 1 second. The Power LED in the front of the Network Camera fades and blinks for about 45 seconds when the Pan/Tilt motors will set to the center position.
