Adding Memory with a
Media Card
As we have shown you in this book, your BlackBerry is a very capable media device.
Eventually, you will need additional space to hold all those pictures, songs and videos
that you will be downloading and transferring onto your BlackBerry.

How to Boost Your Memory with a Media Card

Your BlackBerry comes with about 1GB (Gigabyte) of main memory,
but all that won't all be available to you. The operating system and
installed software takes up some of that room and so will all your
personal information. (The image of the SanDisk MicroSD card and
the SanDisk logo are copyrights owned by SanDisk Corporation.)
Since your BlackBerry is also a very capable media device, you will probably want more
room to store things like music files, videos, ringtones, and pictures.
That's where the MicroSD memory card comes in. You can purchase 2GB, 4GB, and
even higher capacity Micro SD memory cards. At the time of publishing, the maximum
allowable capacity for a BlackBerry running Operating System Software version 5.0 was
32GB. It is likely that this will increase over time.

Installing or Removing Your Memory Card/Media Card

Your BlackBerry has the MicroSD card slot next to the edge of the battery under the
Battery Door. You have to remove the battery door to insert the Media Card.
