Advanced SMS Menu Commands and Options

There are ways to personalize and customize your SMS messaging. These settings are
found in your Options icon.
1. Click on your Options icon (it may be inside the Applications or
Settings folder, if you don't see it from your Home Screen).
2. Scroll down to SMS Text or
SMS and click with the
trackpad.
TIP: Press the letter S on your keyboard a
few times to jump down to this entry--- -it's
usually faster than scrolling.
Usually, the options shown are adjustable;
however, some BlackBerry phones are more
limited. (This depends on your BlackBerry
phone software version and your wireless
carrier.)
Screen Options:
Conversation Style - Bubbles or Lines---- - the look and feel of the

threaded conversation.
Show Names - Show or hide the names of the people in the

conversation.
Message Options:
Data Coding - Generally kept at 7 bit

Service Center - The phone number of the SMS text service center

for your wireless carrier (will be different from what is shown).
Disable AutoText - Generally set to No (this means you want to use

the AutoText when typing SMS messages)
 Leave messages on SIM card - Change to Yes if you want to keep
copies of your messages on the SIM card and not have them deleted.
Watch out, your SIM card will get filled pretty quickly if you use
SMS a lot!
