Delivery reports - Change to On if you want delivery confirmation for

your SMS messages.
Network to Send Over - Choose between Circuit Switched, Packet

Switched, Circuit Preferred or Packet Preferred.
Packet Switching is a more modern way of delivering data, but it may
not work in all coverage areas. Your BlackBerry usually does a good
job of choosing the correct method, but if you have problems, try
switching the settings.
Retries -- - The number 3 is the default, but adjust up or down (0 to 5)

to meet your needs. Some networks may need more retries.

Opening and Replying to SMS Messages

makes it simple to quickly keep in touch and respond to your messages.
1. Navigate to your waiting messages from either the
Message icon on the Home Screen or your SMS
messages icon and click on the new SMS message.
2. If you are in the midst of a dialogue with someone, your messages will
appear in a threaded message format which looks like a running
discussion, see Figure 18-1.
3. Just press the Menu key or click the trackpad and select Reply.
4. The cursor appears in a blank field. Type in your reply, click the
trackpad, and select Send.
