BANK ANGLE SENSOR
GENERAL
The Bank Angle Sensor (BA Sensor), located below the tail
section on the left side of the motorcycle, provides input to
the ECM on whether or not the vehicle lean angle is greater
than 55 degrees. If vehicle lean angle exceeds 55 degrees,
the Bank Angle Sensor will shut off power to the ignition.
REMOVAL
1.
See
Figure 4-82.
Locate bank angle sensor below left
side of tail section. Unplug sensor connector [134].
2.
Remove screw and washer to detach sensor from frame.
INSTALLATION
1.
Position bank angle sensor on frame mounting tab. Make
sure locating post on sensor engages hole in mounting
tab.
2.
Install bank angle sensor to mounting tab with screw and
new locknut. Tighten screw to 25-27 in-lbs (2.8-3.1 Nm).
