Chapter 5
Note:
Option Port Function—SLT/Door Phone
MBC - 4-28
Note:
There are two dual use ports on the Option Board. These two ports can be set for use
as a Door Phone interface or a Single Line Telephone (SLT) extension interface
(analog port). They cannot be used as both at the same time. When set as SLT
extensions, they will operate as a standard analog line telephone for use with fax
machines and modems, etc. When set to Door Phone, they will integrate with the
systems' proprietary Door Phone. The programming parameters for the two Option
Port Functions are:
Utility - Single Line Telephone (analog port) or Door Phone.
Ring Type - Ring (the only option available).
Ring Position (Day) - When the port has been selected for Door Phone use, this
parameter assigns the Day Mode ringing destination whenever the Door Phone
Call Key is pressed. Ringing destinations can be extensions or Hunt Groups.
Ring Position (Night) - When the port has been selected for Door Phone use, this
parameter assigns the Night Mode ringing destination whenever the Door Phone
Call Key is pressed. Ringing destinations can be extensions or Hunt Groups.
Maximum Ring Time - Once the Door Phone Call Key is pressed, ringing at the
extensions/hunt groups will continue until this timer has elapsed. This is provided
to cancel ringing when the call goes unanswered.
Unlock code - This code is used with a contact closure provided on the Option
Board. It is often used to trigger a solenoid-activated door lock whereby the
telephone user can open the door by dialing this code while connected to the Door
Phone.
Open Indication - Open indication is the amount of time that a door phone may
remain connected once it places a call. Open indication can be limited from 01-60
seconds. A setting of 00 removes the limit function.
Door Relay - Use this setting to link any of the four available relay contacts to
this port. (When a Relay is associated to the port, the relay will operate when the
user dials the Unlock Code.)
The Service Mode can also be adjusted using the System Administrator
access (Feature #0) and password.
The Attendant assigned extension (04-03) may also adjust the Service
Mode using the Day/Night mode code (Feature 63) with the attendant
extension password.
The Attendant Day/Night Service Mode code can be programmed on an
available Feature Key, but it will only function at the attendant (MBC 4-
03) or alternate attendant (MBC 4-04) extensions.
The Programmed key may contain the password for one touch day/night
mode operation.
At default, extensions 36 and 37, are assigned as single line telephones that
rings, so once a door phone is connected it will automatically answer the
inbound call.
