Line Call Discrimination (Toll Restriction)
Line Call Discrimination refers to the ability of an extension user to place certain calls
on CO Lines. The guidelines defined in these parameters can be applied to an
extension by means of its Class of Service. Allowed dialing is input in ranges. In its
simplest form an extension can be allowed to dial any number beginning with a digit
from 0 to 9. In the same way an extension can be restricted to dialing only numbers
beginning with digits 2 through 9.
There are 100 table entries that can be set up in ranges called "Intervals". Each
Interval provides for digits in the "From" and "To" parameters. Intervals are
programmed with the digit sequences that are to be allowed at the extensions with the
associated Class of Service. Given this brief example, if an extension is limited to
calls that do not begin with 0 or 1, the table Interval entry is From = 2 and To = 9.
Each Interval "From" parameter and "To" parameter has the capacity for up to 10
digits.
Intervals are assigned to Classes of Service for extensions and CO Lines. Therefore an
extension that is allowed to dial a telephone number on one CO Line may not be able
to dial that same number on a different CO Line. Class of Service settings are applied
in both the Day and Night Service Modes. Therefore dialing characteristics can be
different for Extensions and CO Lines based on the time of day and operating mode of
the system.
Data Range: Digit Interval 001 - 100, From and To. Up to ten digits in
length
Digit Interval 001 - 100, Extension COS: Day Y/N, Night Y/N
Digit Interval 001 - 100, Line COS: Day Y/N, Night Y/N
