Placing Originals in the Feeder (DADF-A1)

Place a stack of originals in the feeder, and they are automatically fed to the platen glass for copying.
Two-sided copies can also be automatically made from two-sided originals.
You can place the following originals in the original supply tray:
• Weight:13 to 28-Ib bond (50 to 105 g/m
• Size:STMT, LTR, LGL, 11"× 17"
• Tray capacity: 11"× 17"/LGL-size: 25 (20-Ib bond or 80 g/m
LTR/LTRR/STMT/STMTR-size: 50 (20-Ib bond or 80 g/m
NOTICE
Do not place the following types of originals in the feeder:
• Originals with tears or large binding holes
• Severely curled originals or originals with sharp folds
• Clipped or stapled originals
• Carbon-backed paper or other originals which might not feed smoothly
• Transparencies and other highly transparent originals
Check the condition of originals which have been fed through the feeder many times. Originals which
have been fed through the feeder many times can become folded or wrinkled and might not feed
smoothly.

Neatly stack your originals face up in the origi-
nal supply tray.

NOTICE
After copying begins, do not add or remove originals.
Copies made using the Feeder may show black
marks, or marks that are not on the originals, caused
by pencil powder etc on the rollers.
In such a case, circulate plain white originals (copy
paper) through the Feeder to clean the dirt from the
rollers. (See "Original Scanned Using The Feeder
Becomes Dirty (FEEDER CLEANING)," on p.6-17.)
