SYMPTON AND POSSIBLE SOLUTION
The connection was reset either by the network system or the CP
Server. Verify that the CP Server is running. If the DTI Server experi-
ences a long network delay connecting to the CP Server, the CPU
may reset the DTI Server's connection after sending the DTI Server a
login error message. The connection is reset before the DTI Server
could read the login error message. If the problem persists, contact
your network administrator and see the suggestions under "Software
caused connection abort," described above.
The DTI Server cannot connect to the CP Server. Verify the IP
address (located in the Desktop OAI Connection Settings tab in the
DTI Server Settings dialog box) is the CP Server's IP address.
See
"Network is unreachable" on page
Windows cannot fulfill the DTI Server TCP/IP communication require-
ments. This error occurs due to one of two scenarios:
The DTI Server computer is running too many programs that
communicate via the computer network. If this is the cause, clos-
ing some of the other programs might resolve this error.
A program running on the DTI Server computer is using the net-
work facilities incorrectly and thereby owns computer resources
required by the DTI Server. Restarting the computer might tem-
porarily resolve this problem. However, if the offending program
malfunctions again, the DTI Server will have the same problem.
To resolve this problem, use trial and error to determine which
application is interfering with the DTI Server.
This error could indicate a serious failure of your network subsystem.
Check the DTI Server computer's WinSock, protocol stack, network
driver, and network interface card configuration. Try restarting the
computer the DTI Server is on. If the problem persists, reinstall TCP/
IP.
The DTI Server computer might have crashed and/or rebooted. If the
problem persists and the DTI Server computer is not rebooting, con-
tact your network administrator and see the suggestions under
ware caused connection abort" on page
This error indicates a shortage of resources on the DTI Server com-
puter. This error can occur if you are trying to run too many applica-
tions (of any kind) simultaneously on the DTI Server computer. If this
tends to occur after running certain applications for a while, it might
be a symptom of a malfunctioning application. This error might also
indicate you are not closing the applications properly. If this error per-
sists, restart the DTI Server computer. Avoid running the offending
application.
