Logging In Through Telnet

Introduction

The device supports Telnet. You can manage and maintain the switching engine remotely by Telnetting
to the switching engine.
To log in to the switching engine through Telnet, the corresponding configuration is required on both the
switching engine and the Telnet terminal.
You can also log in to the switching engine through SSH. SSH is a secure shell added to Telnet. Refer to
the SSH Operation for related information.

Common Configuration

lists the common Telnet configuration.

The IP address is configured for the VLAN of the switching engine,
and the route between the switching engine and the Telnet terminal is
reachable. (Refer to the IP Address and Performance Operation and
Routing Protocol parts for more.)
The authentication mode and other settings are configured. Refer to
Table 3-2
and
Telnet is running.
