FUNCTIONS FOR TRANSMIT

■ VOX function

The VOX (Voice-Operated Transmission) function
switches between transmit and receive with your
voice. This function provides an opportunity for
hands-free operation or to input log entries into your
computer, etc., while operating.
q Select a phone mode (SSB, AM, FM) with
[MODE].
w Select M-3.
• Hold down [MENU/GRP] for 1 second once or twice
to select the menu group M.
• Push [MENU/GRP] momentarily one or more times
to select the menu M-3.
e Push [F-1 VOX] to toggle the VOX function ON or
OFF.

The VOX gain, ANTI-VOX and VOX delay can be set in
VOX Set mode.
q Select a phone mode (SSB, AM, FM).
w Select M-3.
• Hold down [MENU/GRP] for 1 second once or twice
to select the menu group M.
• Push [MENU/GRP] momentarily one or more times
to select the menu M-3.
e Hold down [F-1 VOX] for 1 second to enter the
VOX Set mode.
r Select the VOX gain item using [F-1 ≤] or [F-2 ≥].
t While speaking into the microphone, rotate [DIAL]
to the point where the transceiver is continuously
transmitting.
y Adjust the VOX delay for a convenient interval
before returning to receive.
- Select the VOX delay item using [F-1 ≤] or [F-2 ≥].
- Rotate [DIAL].
u If the receive audio from the speaker causes
the VOX circuit to switch to, adjust the anti-VOX
setting to the point where speaker audio does not
activate the VOX.
