6.6 Printhead Pressure Adjustment

The pressure applied by the print-head assembly is adjustable to accommodate a variety of
media thicknesses. To achieve consistent print across the label, print head pressure may
need to be adjusted by turning the pressure adjustment screws located on the top of the print
head.
CAUTION:
Note:
When adjusting, use the minimum pressure necessary for better
imaging. Excessive pressure can reduce the service life of the print head
and platen roller. Unequal pressure may cause ribbon and label tracking
problems.
To adjust the print head pressure:
1. Load media and ribbon in the printer and calibrate the printer.
2. Ensure the print-head leveling cam cam is correctly adjusted. See
3. Print a label and examine the printed image.
Note:
There are three positions for adjusting the Print Head Pressure
adjustment screws: High (no pressure), Medium and Low (full pressure).
The pressure adjustment screws can be continuously rotated in a CCW
direction from one setting to the next.
