ipv6 address autoconfig

The ipv6 address autoconfig Interface Configuration mode command enables automatic configuration
of IPv6 addresses using stateless autoconfiguration on an interface. Addresses are configured depending
on the prefixes received in Router Advertisement messages. , Use the no form of this command to
disable address autoconfiguration on the interface.
Syntax
ipv6 address autoconfig
no ipv6 address autoconfig
Default Configuration
Address autoconfiguration is enabled on the interface, no addresses are assigned by default.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Ethernet, VLAN, Port-channel) mode.
User Guidelines
When address autoconfig is enabled, router solicitation ND procedure is initiated to discover a router
and assign IP addresses to the interface, based on the advertised on-link prefixes.
When disabling address autoconfig, automatically generated addresses assigned to the interface are
removed.
The default state of the address autoconfig is 'enabled'. To enable an IPv6 interface without address
autoconfig, use the enable ipv6 no-autoconfig command.
Example
The following example enables automatic configuration of IPv6 addresses using stateless
autoconfiguration on VLAN 1.
Console (config)# interface vlan 1
Console (config-if)# ipv6 address autoconfig

ipv6 icmp error-interval

The ipv6 icmp error-interval Global Configuration mode command configures the rate limit interval
and bucket size parameters for IPv6 Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) error messages. Use the
no form of this command to return the interval to its default setting.
