STEP CUTTING __________________________________________________

Possible Cause
The HOC (height-of-cut) settings are different between
units or not set even on individual Units
Worn roller bearings.
Changes in turf density
The machine ride height is uneven side to side.
General wear and tear of the machine.
Seized or damaged cutting unit pivot pin.
"Step cutting" occurs when the grass is cut higher
on one side. The cause is mechanical wear or
incorrect setting of the roller or deck caster.

Check HOC adjustment of cutting units. (See
section 9.6.)
Check and replace the roller bearings.
Change the direction of cut.
Check and adjust the tyre pressure. (See section
4.3.)
Check machine for any damaged or worn parts.
Grease pivot housing. Inspect and replace bent or
damaged pivot pins.
