Place the printer power switch to off (O).

Unplug the printer power cord from the electrical
outlet.

Unplug the modem power cord from the electrical
outlet.

Disconnect the modem cable from the printer
serial port.

Plug the end of the printer power cord into a prop-
erly grounded electrical outlet.

Place the printer power switch to on (I).
