2. Procedures

(1) Network Settings [Configuring the IP Address, etc.]

Perform this procedure in order to register the required network
settings in the printer that has this machine installed.
If you complete the connection of printer to the network, there is no
need to perform required network settings for scanner once again.
NOTES
• The IP address to be used for the printer will differ depending upon
your network. Confirm the address that you need to use in advance
with your network manager.
• Always check that DHCP server setting is "OFF" when you attempt
to input the network address.

Press the * / Language key.
Use the N and M cursor keys to move the arrow (e) to

"Default set/manager".

Press the Enter key.

Use the numeric keys to enter your PIN code. (The factory
default code is "4850".)
5 Use the N and M cursor keys to move the arrow (e) to
"Printer setting".
6 Press the Enter key.
7 Use the N and M cursor keys to move the arrow (e) to
"DHCP server".
8 Press the Enter key.
CHAPTER 9 SET-UP (SCANNER)
If DHCP server setting is not "OFF", use the N and M

cursor keys to move the arrow (e) to "OFF".
*The present setting is indicated by a ">" mark.
*The DHCP server default setting is "OFF" .
10 Press the Enter key.
11 Use the N and M cursor keys to move the arrow (e) to
"IP address".

Press the Enter key.
13 Use the numeric keys to enter the IP address for the printer
that has the KM-S4850w installed.
EXAMPLE
In order to set the IP address to "192.168.0.1", perform the following
procedure.
1 Use the numeric keys to enter "192".
2 Press the P cursor key or the "." numeric key.
3 Use the numeric keys to enter "168", and then press the P
cursor key or the "." numeric key.
4 Press the P cursor key or the "." numeric key.
5 Press numeric key "1".
• Press the Stop/Clear key if you want to enter the address once
again from the beginning. The displayed IP address will return to its
previous setting.
