CHAPTER 11 TROUBLESHOOTING
TROUBLE
Cannot connect to the printer
for scanning
Text is not printed correctly

CHECK POINT
Is the power cord connected properly?
Is the main switch to the printer turned
ON?
Is the network cable appropriate and is it
connected properly?
Was the network cable connected
AFTER the power to the printer was
turned ON?
Is the printer off-line?
(Is "Off line." displayed?)
Was scanning initiated immediately after
the main switch was turned ON ( | ) to
the printer? (Is the Printer Data / On-line
indicator flashing?)
Are the IP address for the printer and/or
the corresponding computer (device)
name and host name correctly
registered in your computer?
Is someone else currently accessing the
printer? (Is someone else presently
copying, printing or scanning?)
Is the network cable appropriate and is it
connected properly?
Is the setting configuration in your
computer correct?

PROCEDURE
Make sure that the power cord is
securely connected into an outlet.
Make sure that the main switch is turned
ON ( | ).
Make sure that an appropriate network
cable is being used and make sure that
it is connected properly.
Always connect the printer cable
BEFORE turning the power to the printer
ON.
Press the Copier/Printer/Scanner key
to switch to the Printer mode. Then
press the Enter key in order to put the
printer back on-line. Once it is back on-
line, the Printer Data / On-line indicator
will light.
Even though warm-up may have been
completed in the printer, the internal
server computer that manages printing
and scanning may still be starting up.
Wait approximately 2 minutes or so and
try again.
Make sure that the settings in the
software application being used are
correct.
Wait until that operation is completed
and try again. If that operation is a copy
operation, scanning will be possible
once the Auto Clear function engages in
the printer.
Make sure that an appropriate network
cable is being used and make sure that
it is connected properly.

driver and/or the software application
