Chapter 3: Programming

Recommended programming sequence

The following is a suggested programming sequence for a Door Controller:
1. Set the CDC4 DIP switches. See Chapter 1 "Installation > DIP switch
settings" on page 23.
2. Default CDC4. See "Defaulting the door controller" on page 34.
3. Connect CDC4 to Advisor Advanced. See "Connections" on page 24.
4. Connect Downloader to the Advisor Advanced panel. See "Downloader
connection" on page 78.
5. Add CDC4 as a remote expander in Downloader. See "Expander tab" on
page 82.
6. Upload the default configuration from CDC4 to Downloader. See "Uploading
default configuration" on page 78.
7. Upgrade the CDC4 firmware to the latest version. See "Upgrading firmware"
on page 78.
8. Program the CDC4 IP communications if CDC4 will operate in extended
mode. See "Programming IP communications" on page 79.
9. Program CDC4:
- Program the CDC4 general controller options.
- Assign RAS to CDC4.
- Assign DGP to CDC4.
10. Program special days if required.
11. Program schedules if required.
12. Program regions if required.
13. Program the CDC4 doors:
- Program hardware options for each door.
- Assign readers to each door.
- Program access options for each door.
- Program shunt, passback and RTE options for each door.
- Program alarm control for each door, if applicable.
14. Program zone and output mappings for Advisor Advanced, if applicable.
15. Program the CDC4 macro logic, if required.
16. Program user information:
- Program door groups.
- Program users.
