Chapter 1: Installation
When powering locks from an external power supply or using the relays for other
purposes, the relay contact rating must be observed. See "Specifications" on
page 41 for relay switching capacity.

Inputs

Each pair of input terminals may be connected to a device such as a detector or
door contact.
CDC4 can monitor its input circuits for a few states (including active, normal,
open circuit, short circuit, fault, anti-mask) depending on the settings.
The inputs are configured in the same way as in Advisor Advanced ATSx500A
control panel. For more information, refer to Advisor Advanced ATSx500A
Installation and Programming Manual.
Wiegand reader connections
The CDC-2DWIF Dual Wiegand Interface can have two Wiegand devices, such
as readers, connected to terminal blocks shown on Figure 2 on page 8, items 12.
Figure 7 below details the typical Wiegand reader wiring used with a TS0870
Smart Card Reader.

In Figure 7 above, the violet wire (open collector output) can be connected to an
input via a resistor to operate as a tamper input (refer to the reader's installation
guide for details).
Note: Figure 7 above shows the cable provided with TS0870 Smart Card
Readers. Other Wiegand readers may be connected using 6-core shielded data
cable (Belden 9536 or equivalent).

Expansion modules

Output expansion
CDC4 has four on-board outputs that are assigned the first four output numbers.
If output expansion cards are used, additional outputs are numbered according to
their physical address, starting at 5. CDC4 allows for output mapping to be
programmed such that a physical output number (for example, 5) can be mapped
to an output number in the Advisor Advanced system (for example, 21).
One ATS1810 four-way relay card may be connected to the output expander
(Figure 12 on page 13, item 13) to add four outputs. Alternatively, ATS1811
eight-way relay card or ATS1820 16-way open collector card may be connected
to the output expander individually or daisy-chained to add eight outputs or 16
open collector outputs per card.
