Chapter 1: Installation

LED indications

LEDs on the printed circuit board indicate the state of CDC4, the Advisor
Advanced system bus, the local buses (bus 1 and bus 2), and Ethernet activity.
Table 3 below shows the LEDs for each of the items above. The numbers in the
Item number column indicate the LED location on CDC4 as shown in Figure 12
on page 13.

Slow flashing indicates normal operation.
Rapid flashing if firmware update or CDC4 default is
in process.

On indicates CDC4 is ready to accept programming.

Flashing indicates polling data being received from
the Advisor Advanced panel on the system bus.

Flashing indicates CDC4 is replying to polling from
the Advisor Advanced panel on the system bus.
Off indicates that CDC4 is not correctly addressed,
the Advisor Advanced panel is not programmed to
poll the expander address, or there is no Advisor
Advanced panel connected.

Flashing indicates remote units, such as readers,
replying to polling on bus 1

Rapid flashing if a remote unit is connected to bus 1.
Off if no remote unit is connected to bus 1.

Flashing indicates remote units replying to polling on
bus 2.

Rapid flashing if a remote unit is connected to bus 2.
Off if no remote unit is connected to bus 2.

Flashing indicates Ethernet activity.

On indicates Ethernet speed is 100 Mbps.
