Alarm control

The CDC4 door controller can perform alarm control functions, such as arming
areas. Alarm control for each CDC4 door is determined through alarm control
levels, which are analogous to user groups in Advisor Advanced.
Each alarm control level must have a schedule assigned to it.
Each alarm control level can be allocated a list of up to ten areas for arming and
disarming.
A CDC4 door can have up to six alarm control levels, which are then assigned to
a door side (either IN or OUT) in any combination. Up to six alarm control levels
can be assigned to a door side.
If a user initiates some alarm control functionality at a reader (for example, they
badge their card three times to arm areas), CDC4 checks the alarm control levels
for the door that apply to the reader (depending on whether the reader is an IN or
OUT reader).
If any of the assigned alarm controls levels has a schedule that is valid, then the
user credential information is sent to the Advisor Advanced panel, along with
information about any applicable alarm control levels. The Advisor Advanced
panel checks the user credentials in its user database and checks the
corresponding Advisor Advanced user group.
Note:
CDC4 can only request to control (set/unset) up to 10 areas. Therefore
you must ensure that there is no more than 10 areas in all alarm control levels.
If the corresponding Advisor Advanced user group and the reader alarm control
level allow an alarm function, then the alarm function proceeds.
Note:
In the Extended mode, the number of users that can exercise alarm control
from CDC4 is limited by the user capacity of the Advisor Advanced panel.
Alarm control levels are set up in Downloader on the Alarm control levels tab for
the door. Alarm control levels must also be assigned to the door readers, which
can be done on the Alarm tab for the door. The alarm control functionality is
programmed in Downloader on the Alarm tab for the door. See the "Alarm control
tab" section on page 110 for instructions.
In order for alarm control to function, the door must be assigned at least one
alarm control level.
The following is a suggested programming sequence for alarm control for a door:
1. Configure alarm control levels on the Alarm control levels tab of the Expander
form. See "Alarm control level tab" on page 95.
2. Assign alarm control levels to doors on the Alarm control tab of the Doors
form. See "Alarm control tab" on page 110.
Note:
Alarm control may be also controlled automatically by High Security user
number. See "Alarm control by region" on page 94 for details.
