Install the new BCM50 Main Unit

Remove a table mounted Main Unit

To remove a table mounted Main Unit:

Ensure that all of the cables are removed from the Main Unit.
If they are not, refer to

If there is a unit mounted to the top of the Main Unit, slide that unit forward until it disengages
from the clips on the Main Unit. Lift the unit off of the top of the Main Unit.

Lift the Main Unit off of the table and set it on a flat, clean, static-free surface.

Continue to the next step,
Install the new BCM50 Main Unit
Use one of the following procedures to install the new BCM50 Main Unit:
"Install the BCM50 unit on the rackmount shelf" on page 98
"Install the BCM50 unit on the wallmount bracket" on page 103
"Install the BCM50 unit on a table or shelf" on page 106
After installing the new BCM50 Main Unit proceed to the procedure

Connect the cables

To connect the cables to the new BCM50 Main Unit:

Insert the power supply retention clip into the new Main Unit.

Rotate the power supply retention clip so that the power supply jack is clear.

Connect the power supply cord to the Main Unit.

Rotate the power supply retention clip to lock the power supply cord in place.

If the system has a UPS, connect the USB cable to the USB port on the Main Unit.

If the system uses the external Music Source port, connect the music source cable to the Music
Source port on the Main Unit.

Connect the expansion cables or LAN cables to the Expansion ports on the Main Unit. For
expansion cables, make sure you connect the cables to the expansion ports from which they
were removed. This ensures the same line and extension numbering.

If the Main Unit is a BCM50a or BCM50e, connect the Ethernet cable or ADSL line to the
WAN port and the Ethernet cables to the Router card LAN ports.
