CoolSmart TV - Fireplace Preparation

NOTE: All (6) knockouts on top of the fireplace must be used when using the CoolSmart TV kit.
a) Use diagonal cutters or snips
to cut the tab that secures
the knockout to the top of the
fireplace.
b) Bend the knockout back and
forth until it breaks free from
the top of the fireplace.
c) Remove and discard the
knockout
d) Insert a starter collar into the
hole that was uncovered in
the previous step and bend
the tabs to secure the starter
collar to the fireplace.
e) Reach in through the starter
collar and bend the tabs
outward to secure the starter
collar to the fireplace. Seal
the joints with silicone caulk
or aluminum (U.L. 181A-P)
tape
f) Repeat these same steps with the remaining 5 knockouts. When completed, install the fireplace into the framed chase
(see appliance manual for Installation details).
