HOW A FAX IS RECEIVED IN TAD/FAX RX MODE

TAD/FAX RX
In
mode, the facsimile machine recognizes whether an incoming call is a fax or telephone
call. If it is a telephone call, it will enable the TAD to record the incoming message. If it is a fax call, it will
prepare to receive a fax.
To enable faxes to be received when the call is answered by the TAD, the caller must be informed of this
possibility by a suitable prerecorded message.

The display shows the initial operating mode: automatic reception. The
TAD is connected to the fax machine.
An OGM #1 message has been recorded on the TAD.

Press RX MODE until the TAD/FAX reception mode appears on
the display.
The fax machine is now able to distinguish between incoming
telephone and fax calls.

no OGM #1 has been recorded, this reception mode will not
appear
Incoming telephone call:
After playing OGM #1, the TAD prepares to record a message
from the caller and then hangs up. The fax machine returns to
the previous operating mode.
IF...
no message is received within a preset time (6 seconds on
average), the TAD hangs up. The fax machine, which detects
the signals at the same time as the TAD, automatically
prepares to receive a fax as it detects no voice message. To
do this, before the TAD hangs up, the silence lapse must be
programmed (see Programming chart and description of the
sub-menu:
PARAMETERS section).
the caller wants to leave a message on the TAD and then send
a fax, after he has left his message, he must press the START
key on his fax machine. The fax machine prepares to receive
the fax as described in the "Incoming fax call" paragraph
below.
