Changing the remote control code
If the fax machine is connected to an extension that
uses tone dialling and is set for manual reception or
for automatic reception with call type recognition, for
each call from a remote party wishing to send you a
document, you can start reception by typing the code
* * on the extension telephone. This operation is the
same as the one performed by pressing the
key on the fax machine.
Only the second asterisk of this code may be substi-
tuted with a number from 0 to 9.
If the fax machine is connected to an external
answering machine, it is advisable to choose a
number that is different from the one already in
use for the remote control of the answering ma-
chine.
To change the remote control code, use the follow-
ing procedure:
1.
Make sure that the display shows the initial wait-
ing mode and the date and time.

Transmitting a document received on
your fax machine to another fax machine
(forwarding function)
Once programmed to do so, the fax machine can
forward any document received to another fax ma-
chine.
This function is useful if you are absent for a short
period from your office and you wish to receive all
documents that have been sent to your fax machine.
