QUENCE).

Touching the engine while hot may cause burns.

CAUTION
When repairing the engine, always replace all the pre-
viously disassembled gaskets, seeger rings, O-rings
and seals.
Unless otherwise indicated, lubricate all the moving
and sliding parts.

3.7.1 ASSEMBLING THE GEARSHIFT

Carefully read 0.2.1 (PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL
INFORMATIONS).
NOTE
Assemble the gears on the driving shafts, see
3.6.15 (GEARSHIFT - ASSEMBLY).
NOTE
Have the appropriate special tool
hand (cod. 0277308 gearshift secondary shaft guide
bush).
Insert the guide bush (1) on top of the gear of the sec-
ondary shaft (2).
Grease the secondary shaft seal between the two lips.
Apply a coat of LOCTITE
of the secondary shaft (2) and primary shaft (3).
Insert the primary shaft (3) in the housing in the fly-
wheel side half of the engine casing.
Insert the secondary shaft (2) in the housing in the fly-
wheel side half of the engine casing.
Insert the complete gearshift assembly in its housing,
tapping the two shafts lightly all the way in with a plastic
hammer.
Insert the washer (4) on the secondary shaft (2).

Oil the fork of 5 and 6
lector gear of the primary shaft (3).

Oil the fork of 2 and 4

and 3 gear (7) and insert them in the respective se-
lector gears of the secondary shaft (2).
