AMPRO CONNECTION - ONE SWITCHER
;,: ,, Ampro projectors do not have an extra port for switcher communications. Therefore, the switcher must
· -,, )"intercept" all switching commands sent to the projector. This is done by connecting one-of-two types of
EP Comm Adapter to the "HOST" port on the projector rear panel. The two types of adapters are the
"Standard" adapter and the "Type II" adapter.
Standard EP Comm Adapter
See Fig 6-6. The male 15-pin D-Sub connector of the "Y" cable (EP Comm Adapter) connects directly to
the "HOST" port at the rear of the Ampro projector. There must not be any other connections made
between the EP Comm Adapter and the projector. Once the EP Comm Adapter has been attached to the
projector, communications to the projector are interrupted. You must finish connecting the adapter to
the switcher before you can operate the projector.

Turn System 8/10 and projector power OFF.
Connect the EP Comm Adapter to the "HOST" port at the rear of the Ampro projector.
Connect the CC-50' or (or CC-100') cable from the System 8/10 15-pin HD "PROJECTOR
CONTROL" port to the 9-pin connector of the EP Comm Adapter. (If you wish to use
your own CC cable, refer to page 6-2 for cable wiring diagram.)
Connect the Ampro hard-wired or infrared remote control to the 15-pin connector of the
EP Comm Adapter.
Return System 8/10 and projector to normal operation.
EP Comm Adapter, Type II
See Fig 6-7. The male 15-pin HD connector of this "Y" cable connects directly to the "PROJECTOR
CONTROL" port of the System 8/10. The 15-pin male connector of the "Y" connects to the "HOST" port
at the rear of the Ampro projector by means of a CC Type II cable. There must not be any other connec-
tions between the EP Comm Adapter and the projector.
Step 1:
Turn System 8/10 and projector power OFF.
Step 2:
Connect the EP Comm Adapter Type II 15-pin HD male connector to the 15-pin "PROJECTOR
CONTROL" port of the System· 8/10.
