Without using the vari-sync function
Playback signal cannot be monitored during phase synchronization.
Phase synchronization accuracy: ±1 sector (±1 ms when the sampling frequency
is 48.0 kHz).
Can be used in a digital I/O system.
TC SYNC PLAY switch on the TCR board or the DABK-3328 board: ON
VARI SYNC switch on the MC board: OFF
External phase synchronization using a synchronizer
When using the video equipment as the master unit, and the PCM recorder as the
slave unit, use an external synchronizer to phase synchronize the PCM recorder.
There are two methods of external phase synchronization.
Using the vari-sync function
The frequency of the word sync signal is changed in response to a varying voltage
applied to the EXT PHASE CONTROL INPUT connector.
Playback signal can be monitored during phase synchronization.
Cannot be used in a digital I/O system.
VARI SYNC switch on the MC board: ON
Without using the vari-sync function
The capstan motor is controlled in response to a varying voltage applied to the
EXT PHASE CONTROL INPUT connector.
Playback signal cannot be monitored during phase synchronization.
Phase synchronization accuracy: depends on the synchronizer used.
Can be used in a digital I/O system (after servo lock is achieved).
VARI SYNC switch on the MC board: OFF
