5. Selecting the Clock Signal

The relationship between the SYNC CLOCK switch setting and the synchronizing
signal is as follows.
SYNC CLOCK
switch setting
a)
INT X'tal
Internal master clock signal (crystal precision). Tape transport speed is
not adjustable.
INT (NORMAL) Internal master clock signal (VCO precision). Tape transport speed is
adjustable.
EXT
Synchronizing signal input to the WORD SYNC INPUT connector on the
rear panel
DI
Synchronizing signal input to the AES/EBU D-I connector on the rear panel
(or on the DABK-3327 board fitted in the PCM-3324S)
REMOTE 3
Synchronizing signal input via the RM-3324 remote control unit
(with DABK-3323 fitted ) or RM-3348HR remote control unit
VIDEO
Composite video signal input to the REFERENCE VIDEO INPUT
connector on the rear panel
a) Available with the PCM-3348HR only
When the SYNC CLOCK switch is not set to the INT position and no
external synchronizing signal is input
The PCM recorder synchronizes with the internal master clock. In this case, only
the INT lamp lights, and the SYNC CLOCK lamp for the selected synchronizing
signal flashes. At the same time the EXT CLOCK ERROR lamp lights.
