8. GRASS BAG
INSPECTION
The grass bag is subject to wear during normal use. Inspect
the bag for excessive wear or holes or tears, and replace if
necessary.
CLEANING
Wash a dirty grass bag with a garden hose, and allow it to dry
completely before use. A wet bag will clog quickly
REPLACEMENT
Replace a worn or damaged bag with a Honda Genuine
replacement bag.
1. Unclip the plastic edges of the bag from the frame.
2. Remove the bag from the frame.
3. Insert the frame into the replacement bag, as shown.
4. Clip the plastic edges of the bag onto the frame, as shown.
5. Assemble the grass bag frame by pulling the support legs
outward and sliding them into the eyelets as shown.
9. SPARK PLUG INSPECTION
INSPECTION
Recommended spark plug
Using an incorrect spark plug can cause engine damage. Use
the recommended spark plug or an exact equivalent.
1. Visually inspect the spark plug. Discard the plug if the
insulator is cracked or chipped.
2. Measure the plug gap with a wire-type gauge. If
necessary, adjust the gap by bending the side electrode.

3. Make sure the sealing washer is in good condition and
replace if necessary.
4. Install the plug finger-tight to seat the washer, then tighten
with a plug wrench to compress the sealing washer:
Tighten a new plug 1/2 turn after the plug seats. Tighten a
reused plug 1/8 ~ 1/4 turn after the plug seats.
TORQUE: 20 N•m (14 ft-lb)
NOTICE
A loose spark plug can overheat and damage the engine.
Overtightening can damage the threads in the cylinder head.
