3. Remove the handlebar and both handlebar stays as an
assembly.
• PKA type:
Remove the flywheel brake cable from the engine
(P. 5-2).
• VKA type:
Remove the flywheel brake cable from the engine
(P. 5-2) and the lower end of the Smart Drive cable
from the transmission.
• VYA type:
Remove flywheel brake cable from the engine
(P. 5-4), the lower end of the Smart Drive cable from
the transmission, and disconnect the battery charge
connector and cable ties from the handlebar
• VYA type:
Remove the throttle cable from the engine
and the lower end of the Smart Drive cable from the
transmission.
4. Place the mower on wooden blocks to lift the rear
wheels off of the ground.
