SERVICE INFORMATION
Electric Starter Will Not Operate
VLA type only
Check the battery voltage.
12.7 V or more
Check the 30 A fuse

Turn the key to the START position and
check the voltage from the red wire at
the starter magnetic switch to engine
ground

Hold the flywheel brake lever against the
handlebar and turn the key to the START
position. Check the voltage from the
white wire at the starter magnetic switch
to engine ground.

Inspect/replace the starter motor

Replace the starter magnetic switch

• Check the wire harness.
• Check the starter key switch and
replace if necessary

Check for voltage at the yellow wire on
the solenoid and then check the
ground side of the solenoid
