Small form-factor pluggable plus transceivers (SFP+) are enhanced SFP transceivers
that provides support for data rates of up to 10 Gbps for fiber-optic or copper interfaces.
SFP+ transceivers are hot-insertable and hot-removable. Removing an SFP+ transceiver
does not interrupt router functioning, but the removed SFP+ transceiver no longer receives
or transmits data.

To remove an SFP+ transceiver:
Have ready a replacement transceiver or a transceiver slot plug, an antistatic mat,

and a rubber safety cap for the transceiver.
Attach an ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the

Label the cables connected to the transceiver so that you can reconnect them correctly
