- Press [Frequency counting On Off] key, set frequency
counting is on. At this moment, frequency of signal is
displayed in active function area and in the upper right of
screen. User can set frequency counting resolution. Four
options for counting resolution: 1Hz, 10Hz, 100Hz and
1kHz.
3. Read measurement results
Measured frequency is 500.016666 MHz (exact to1 Hz), as
shown in Figure 4-7:

4.4 Measurement of N dB Bandwidth
In the following example, continuous-wave signal (500MHz,
-10dBm) generated by signal generator (Agilent E4421B) as
signal to be measured.
Operation steps:
1. Connect equipment
Connect signal output of signal generator with RF input on
the front panel of spectrum analyzer.
2. Set parameters
1) Reset instrument
- Press PRESET key.
2) Set parameters
- Press FREQ key;
- Press [Center frequency] key, and input 500MHz;
- Press SPAN key;
- Press [Span] key, and input 1MHz;
- Press BW/SWP key;
- Press [Resolution bandwidth Auto Manual] key, set
resolution bandwidth in manual mode, and input 30kHz.
3) Use NdB bandwidth to measure signal bandwidth
- Press MARKER key;
- Press [Next page] key;
- Press [Frequency marker function] key;
