or equal to frequency spacing of two signals. For example,
if you want to distinguish two uniform-amplitude signals
and they are 1kHz apart, you shall select 1kHz or smaller
resolution bandwidth.
Operation steps:
1. Connect equipment
Connect spectrum analyzer's RF input with two signals
through combiner. Set one source's frequency as
1800.4995MHz, set the other source's frequency as
1800.5005MHz. Two sources' signal output amplitude shall
be -20dBm. Adjust output amplitude of two sets of signal
generator and observe spectrum analyzer's displayed signal,
so as to make two signal amplitudes displayed by spectrum
analyzer equal.
2. Set parameters
1 Reset spectrum analyzer
- Press
PRESET
2 Set parameters
- Press
FREQ
key;
- Press [Center frequency] key, and input
1800.5MHz;
- Press
SPAN
key;
key;
- Press [Span] key, and input 50kHz;
- Press
BW/SWP
- Press [Resolution bandwidth Auto Manual] key,
set resolution bandwidth in manual mode, and input
1kHz; you can see peak signal on the screen becomes
even, which indicates that two signals possibly exists,
as shown in Figure 4-2:

3. Measurement Results
1 Reduce resolution bandwidth to 100Hz.
