Note: This section provides the procedure for removing and installing the cutting
reel assembly (cutting reel, spline inserts, grease seals and bearings) from the
cutting unit.
Note: Refer to Reel Assembly Service (cutting units with painted side plates)
(page 9–33) for information on replacing cutting reel grease seals, bearings
and spline inserts.
Note: Removal of the cutting reel requires removal of the LH side plate from
the cutting unit frame. The RH side plate does not have to be removed from
the frame.
1. Park the machine on a clean and level surface, lower the cutting units, shut
off the engine, set the parking brake, and remove the key from the key switch.
