Use the following picture to identify card cable
connectors on your system board:

Note whether the location of the cable connector you
need to use is beneath the riser card. If it is, follow the
instructions in "If you need to remove the riser card in a
minitower system" on page 62 before you install the
new adapter card.

Setting jumpers

When you install an adapter card, you might have to set
switches or move jumpers to make the card work
properly with any cards that are already installed. If you
install a Plug and Play adapter card, however, you
typically do not have to change any switch or jumper
settings after you install it. The computer and the card
automatically work together to make sure the settings
are correct.
Refer to the documentation that came with the new
hardware to determine if you need to set any switches
or move any jumpers.

Setting jumpers for video cards
When you install a video adapter card you do not need
to reset (move) jumpers on the system board. The built-
in video controller will be disabled automatically.
However, you might need to set jumpers on the video
adapter card. Check the documentation that came with
the card to see if any jumpers need to be set.
Setting jumpers on the Mwave card
If you are installing an adapter card that uses I/O
address or joystick port settings that conflict with the
settings for the installed Mwave card, you began to
resolve these conflicts before you turned your computer
off. If you could not change the I/O address or joystick
port settings on the device you are now installing, you
changed the online configuration for the installed
Mwave card in "Resolving Mwave resource conflicts"
on page 73.
With your system unit open, you can change the
required jumpers on the Mwave card to finish resolving
these conflicts. If you need to remove the Mwave card to
access the jumpers, follow the instructions in
"Removing adapter cards" on page 108.

refer to your computer's online help for Mwave. To
access the Mwave online help, follow these steps:

From your Windows 95 desktop, click on the Start
button.

and then to the Mwave menu.
