Procedure
1. Select Setup → Tank.
2. Select the Environment tab.
3. Under Measurement Mode, select the Interface Level with submerged probe

Upgrade the HART
firmware using Rosemount Radar Master
The HMC's firmware is upgraded using Rosemount Radar Master.
Prerequisites
Note
All settings in the HART to Modbus converter (HMC) will be lost after upgrading the
transmitter. Reconfiguration of Modbus communication setup and alarm handling is
required after completing the upgrade.
Note
During firmware upgrade, the HMC Modbus RTU address must be 246, the default
address. Make sure to disconnect other Modbus RTU devices that are connected and have
address 246.
Note
Do not interrupt communication between the PC and the Rosemount 5300 Level
Transmitter during the firmware upload.
Procedure
1. Start Rosemount Radar Master.
2. Enable Modbus communication and set communication preferences.

Adjust Interface Threshold if the interface level pulse is not detected. Note that in
submerged mode the interface is picked up by the surface threshold.
a) Select View → Communication Preferences.
b) Select the Modbus tab.
c) Select the Enable Modbus Communication checkbox.
d) In the Port list, select the COM port number that the RS-485 Converter is
connected to.
e) Select Advanced and use the following settings:
Modem: RS-485
Baudrate: According to configuration in HMC (default 9600)
Stop Bits: According to configuration in HMC (default 1)
