Balancer gear and flywheel

1. Install the balancer drive gear (45T), lock
washer, and finger-tighten the securing nut;
do not torque it at this point.
2. Install the balancer driven gear in the fol-
lowing way:
1. Driven gear
2. Boss
4. Pin (3 pcs)
12 Nm (1.2 m-kg, 8.7 ft-lb)
18 Nm (1.8 m-kg,13 ft-lb)
3. Union bolt
3. Spring (6 pcs)
a)
The balancer driven gear damper assem-
bly is composed of 6 springs and 3 pins.
Insert the
balancer gear, aligning the punch marks.
Then install the damper springs; install
first a spring and then install a spring with
a pin in it.
b)
Align the punch marks on the boss and
gear, and mount the gear on the boss.
3. Install the washer and plate washer onto the
balancer shaft. The install the key onto the
balancer shaft.
4. Install the balancer driven gear, plate
washer, lock washer, and nut.

NOTE:
Be sure the tab of the lock washer engages the
slots in the balancer shaft.
Position the nut so that its slots face the lock
washer.
When
installing
don't push the gear, or the springs and pins will
come off. Push the boss instead.
