Battery

1. Disconnect the battery leads.
NOTE:
Disconnect the negative lead first.

Radiator

1. Disconnect the bypass pipe and outlet pipe
from the right-side crankcase cover.

2. Disconnect the inlet pipe and reservoir pipe
from the radiator.
3. Disconnect the electric fan lead.
4. Remove the radiator holding bolts and re-
move the radiator.

5. Drain the cooling system: First, remove the
air breather bolt in the hose junction. Then
remove the two cylinder drain plugs, the
main drain plug, and finally, remove the
thermostatic cover. This will ensure that the
coolant is completely drained.
WARNING:
Do not bend or damage any of the radiator fins
when removing the radiator from the motorcy-
cle or when storing it.

Exhaust pipes and mufflers

1. Remove the exhaust pipe flange bolts from
the front cylinder head.
2. Loosen the

3. Loosen the muffler clamp bolt at the rear
cylinder.
4. Remove the muffler and passenger foot-rest
securing bolt from each muffler bracket.
Remove the muffler assembly and the pas-
senger footrests.
