3. Install the bearing stopper plates and
tighten the bearing stopper bolts. Use the
Torx driver and torque the bolts to specifica-
tion.
Tightening torque:
25 Nm (2.5m-kg, 18ft-lb)

4. Place a punch on the part of the stopper
bolt head which covers the recess in the
stopper plate and punch the head.

5. Install the second and fifth wheels onto the
drive axle, and install the main axle subas-
sembly into the left side crankcase.
6. Install the third, fourth, and first wheels onto
the drive axle

7. Install the shift cam into the left side crankcase.
8. Install the shift fork #2 onto the third pinion.
Then insert the guide bar (short one) into the
crankcase through the shift fork.
NOTE:
Each shift fork has an embossed number. The fork
should be installed so that the number faces toward the
left side of the crankcase.
9. Install the shift fork #1 onto the fifth wheel and
shift fork #3 onto the fourth wheel. Then insert
the guide bar (long one) through the shift forks.
CAUTION:
Before assembling the crankcases, ensure that the
transmission is in neutral and that the gears turn
freely.

10. Install the connecting rods, with the proper bear-
ings, onto the crankshaft. The letter "Y" on each
rod must face the tapered end of the crankshaft.
Align the location marks on each rod with the
mark on its rod cap. Apply molybdenum disulfide
grease to the bolt threads. Torque both ends of
the rod cap evenly.
