Installation dimensions

If you have a trailer tow hitch retrofitted,
changes to the cooling system and drive train
may be necessary, depending on the vehicle
type.
If you have a trailer tow hitch retrofitted,
observe the anchorage points on the chassis
frame.
For trailer tow hitches fitted at the factory, the
overhang dimension including protective cover-
ing is 864 mm.
Trailer loads
When towing a trailer, observe the legal require-
ments for the respective country, in particular
the national road traffic regulations. Please con-
tact your dealer regarding the installation of a
trailer tow hitch.

The values stated apply to the basic I model
without optional equipment. The values for
your vehicle may therefore differ, depending
on the equipment fitted. You can obtain fur-

The following values vary and are dependent

Please observe the specifications in the vehi-
cle's registration documents when towing a
trailer. The relevant permissible values (that
should not be exceeded) can be found there.
These specifications can also be found on the
type plates of the trailer tow hitch of the trailer
and the vehicle. If the values differ, the lowest
value applies.
When towing a trailer, never exceed the permis-
sible gross train weight (vehicle + trailer). How-
ever, you may:
exceed the permissible rear axle load by a

maximum of 15 %
exceed the permissible gross vehicle weight

by a maximum of 10 % or 100 kg (depending
on which threshold is reached first)
