Warning messages

Along with a warning message in the multifunction display, the ¤ warning lamp will appear in the
instrument cluster. For your own safety, stop the vehicle, paying attention to road and traffic con-
ditions. Switch off the engine and do not re-start it. Visit a qualified specialist workshop.
Warning messages can appear in the multifunction display individually or, in the case of multiple
messages, one after another. They may be accompanied by a warning lamp and/or a warning tone.
Possible causes/consequences and M Solutions
The engine oil level has dropped to the minimum level.

Check the oil level, at the latest when refuelling next (

If necessary, top up the engine oil (

Have the engine checked at a qualified specialist workshop if the
engine oil needs topping up more often than usual.
The power assistance for the steering has malfunctioned. You need to
steer more forcefully.

Check whether you are able to apply the extra force required.

If you are able to steer safely: carefully drive on to a qualified
specialist workshop.

If you are unable to steer safely: do not drive on. Contact the
nearest qualified specialist workshop.
