Information on technical data
Current technical data can be found online at:
http://www.mercedes-benz.com
The technical data was determined in
i
accordance with EC Directives. All data
applies to the vehicle's standard equipment.
The data may therefore differ for vehicles with
optional equipment. Further information can
be obtained from a Mercedes-Benz Service
Centre.
Vehicle electronics
Tampering with the engine electron-
ics
!
Only have engine electronics and the corre-
sponding parts, such as control units, sensors
or connector leads, serviced in a qualified
specialist workshop. Otherwise, the vehicle
parts may wear out more quickly. This can
invalidate the general operating permit and
the insurance cover, and lead to the loss of
the implied warranty.
Retrofitting electrical or electronic
equipment
G
WARNING
If RF transmitters are tampered with or not
properly retrofitted, the electromagnetic radi-
ation they emit can interfere with the vehicle
electronics. This may jeopardise the opera-
Vehicle electronics
tional safety of the vehicle. There is a risk of an
accident.
You should have all work on electrical and
electronic components carried out at a quali-
fied specialist workshop.
G
WARNING
If you operate RF transmitters incorrectly in
the vehicle, the electromagnetic radiation
could interfere with the vehicle electronics,
e.g.:
if the RF transmitter is not connected to an
R
exterior aerial
the exterior aerial has been fitted incor-
R
rectly or is not a low-reflection type
This could jeopardise the operating safety of
the vehicle. There is a risk of an accident.
Have the low-reflection exterior aerial fitted at
a qualified specialist workshop. When oper-
ating RF transmitters in the vehicle, always
connect them to the low-reflection exterior
aerial.
!
The operating permit may be invalidated if
the instructions for installation and use of RF
transmitters are not observed.
In particular, the following conditions must be
complied with:
only approved wavebands may be used.
R
observe the maximum permissible output
R
in these wavebands.
only approved aerial positions may be
R
used.
Increased levels of electromagnetic radiation
could pose a risk to your health and the health of
others. Using an exterior aerial takes into
account current scientific discussions relating
to the possible health hazards that may result
from electromagnetic fields.
Do not use any electrical or electronic devices in
the vehicle that do not meet the conditions
below. The general operating permit may other-
wise be invalidated.
Electrical and electronic devices may not only
reduce comfort but also the operating safety of
the vehicle. If you retrofit such devices, their
electromagnetic compatibility must be checked
and verified.
