Cleaning the trailer tow hitch

Environmental note
Dispose of oily and greasy cloths in an envi-
ronmentally-responsible manner.
Do not clean the ball coupling with a high-

pressure cleaner. Do not use solvents.
! Please note the care instructions in the
trailer coupling manufacturer's operating
instructions.

Remove traces of rust, e.g. with a wire brush.
X
Remove dirt with a clean, lint-free cloth or
brush.
X
After cleaning, lightly oil or grease the guide
pin of locking pin ; and ball coupling =.
X
Treat lock ? and ball coupling recess : with
an acid-free and resin-free oil.
X
Check that the vehicle's trailer tow hitch is
working properly.
Maintenance of the ball coupling and trailer

tow hitch can also be performed at a qualified
specialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre.
Cleaning the seals of the two front tilt-
ing skylights

Clean the seals every three weeks with a
cleaning and care product recommended and
approved by Mercedes-Benz.
Care for the interior
Cleaning with a high-pressure cleaner
! Observe the following points when wet
cleaning the vehicle interior:
Never use a high-pressure cleaner.

Make sure that no liquids enter or are left in
R
gaps or cavities.
Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation
R
when cleaning.
Make sure that the vehicle interior dries
R
completely after cleaning.
Cleaning the display
! For cleaning, do not use any of the following:
alcohol-based thinner or petrol
R
abrasive cleaning agents
R
commercially-available household cleaning
R
agents
These may damage the display surface. Do
not put pressure on the display surface when
cleaning. This could lead to irreparable dam-
age to the display.

The display must be switched off and have
cooled down before you start cleaning.
X
Clean the display surface with a commercially
available microfibre cloth and cleaner for
TFT/LCD displays.
X
Dry the display surface using a dry microfibre
cloth.
Cleaning the plastic trim

WARNING
Care products and cleaning agents containing
solvents can cause surfaces in the cockpit to
become porous. This could result in plastic
parts breaking away when the airbags are
deployed. There is a danger of injury.
Do not use care products and cleaning agents
containing solvents to clean the cockpit.
! Do not affix the following to plastic surfaces:
stickers
R
films
R
scented oil bottles or similar items
R
You could otherwise damage the plastic.
