(2) Memory capacity of files
Memory capacity of files used in the CPU module are different depending on file types. Derive the memory
capacity for each file, referring to the following table.
File type
Parameter
Intelligent function module

Program
Device comment
Initial device value
File register
Local device
Sampling trace file
PLC user data
Source information
Drive heading
Device data storage file
Module error collection file
Data logging setting file
*1
The value is adjusted by the system so that the total number of bytes including the network parameter settings is
multiple of four.
*2
The value is adjusted by the system so that the number of bytes is multiple of four.
*3
228 is set by default. (It varies according to parameter settings.)
*4
After the decimal point of a value found by "the number of bit device points/16" is rounded up.
36
Default
• L02CPU: 2936(can be increased by parameter setting)
• L26CPU-BT: 2964(can be increased by parameter setting)
Reference
• Boot setting → 84 + (18 × (number of files))
• With CC-Link setting (
MELSEC-L CC-Link System Master/Local Module User's Manual)
• With remote password setting → 92 + (the number of target modules × 10)
76 + (28 × the number of modules set) + parameter size for each utility

+ 4 × ((number of steps) + (number of steps reserved for online change))
74 + 72 + 8 + (total comment data size of each device)
Comment data size per device = 10 + 10250 × a + 40 × b
• a: Quotient of ((number of device points)/256)
• b: remainder of ((number of device points/256)
66 + 44 (number of settings of the initial device value) + 2 × (total number of device points set to the initial device value) + 72
+ 8
2 × (number of device points)
70 + 6 × (set device type) + 2 × (total number of M and V points)/16 + (number of D and Z points) + 18 × (total number of T,
ST, and C points)/16) × (number of programs where local devices are used)
M, V, D, T, ST, and C indicate the following set devices.
• M: internal relay
• V: edge relay
• D: data register
• T: timer
• ST: retentive timer
• C: counter
• Z: index register
362 + (number of word device points + number of bit device points) × 12 + (N1 + N2 + number of word device points × 2 +
(number of bit device points/16) × 2) × the number of traces (total number of executions)
Apply the following values for N1 and N2 according to the items selected under Additional Information on the "Condition
setting" tab of the "Trace Setting" dialog box.
• N1: When "Time" is selected, apply "4".
• N2: When "Program Name" is selected, apply "8".
Depends on the value and the number of data
Depends on the specifications of the programming tool

L26CPU-BT: Setting value at formatting (2K to 1024K)
76 + 64 (64 × (value set for the number of storable errors))
• For common setting (file name: LOGCOM)••• 96
• Data logging setting (file name: LOG01 to LPG10. Use the same calculating formula for each file)••• 1164 + 8 × (number of
