Appendix U. CDM-625A FTP
U.1
Overview
Comtech EF Data provides the means, using File Transfer Protocol (FTP), to quickly "clone" the
configuration of a "source" CDM-625A Advanced Satellite Modem (Modem 'A') to any "target"
CDM-625A (Modem 'B') on a per-modem basis. This allows consistent network setup with
minimum effort.
All Base Modem configuration parameters are stored in a simple text file that you may create
using FTP. This configuration file contains a series of commands that encapsulate the source
modem's configuration – you should not manually edit this file except as noted. You may then
transfer this parameter file by FTP to quickly configure the target modem(s) as needed.
1) You may proceed with the FTP Modem-to-Modem Configuration procedure assuming that:
A. The Source (Modem 'A') and Target (Modem 'B') modems are running the latest
B. The Source (Modem 'A') and Target (Modem 'B') modems' Ethernet ports are
C. The Source (Modem 'A') and Target (Modem 'B') modems' "Remote Control" ports are
2) If you are using a CDM-625A Advanced Satellite Modem with an installed and enabled
optional IP Packet Processor, this procedure is available only if you log in with
Administrative privileges.
