CORRECTION OF MINOR FAULTS

FAULT
Variation in the height of cut of
grass across the width of cut.
Grass is cut unevenly in wavy or
hummocky fashion.
Grass is torn off instead of being
cut cleanly.
Grass is removed entirely and the
mower labours.
Mower moves forward sluggishly.
Cuttings not entering grass box
properly.

REMEDY
Front rolls are not square with the bottom blade.
Make the necessary adjustments, see page 40.
Alignment of cutting cylinder has
been upset, probably through running into an
obstruction. Consult your local service centre.
Adjust the cutting cylinder to bottom blade,
see page 38. If the grass is still not cut cleanly, the
cutters require sharpening. Backlap the cutters, see
page 44. If this does not rectify the fault consult your local
service centre.
Bottom blade is set too low. Raise
the height of cut, see page 38.
Cylinder may have run into an obstruction. Stop the
engine and clear. If no obstruction is present the
problem may be due to clutch slip - adjust cable. If the
faults is not cured the rear roll clutch chain wheel
assembly may need replacing or the centrifugal clutch
shoes relining. Consult your local service centre.
Concave set incorrectly. To adjust
see page 42. If the grass clippings fall between the
front roll and the cutting cylinder, fit brush and keep
clean when emptying the grass box
