NOTE: During the 'back lapping' operation regular
should be made on the setting of the cutting cylinder to
the bottom blade and if necessary any slight
adjustments made.
When the cutters have been sharpened satisfactorily
they will cut the paper cleanly along the length of the
bottom blade.
WIPE OFF ALL TRACES OF THE CARBORUNDUM

CHAIN ADJUSTMENTS
(Fig. 22)
To gain access to chains remove the chain case
cover. When correctly adjusted all three transmission
chains should be slightly slack in all positions. Check
to ensure there are no tight spots.
If adjustment is necessary:
Chain A:
Slacken the nut (a) which enables the chain wheel to
be moved either towards or away from the chain (A) by
means of a slot.. When the correct tension has been
achieved re-tighten the nut (a).
Chain B:
Slacken nuts (b) and move the adjuster along its slots,
either towards or away from the chain until the correct
tensioner has been achieved. Re-tighten nuts
Chian C:
Slacken nut (c). and move the plate behind it along its
slot until the correct tension has been achieved.
Retighten the nut.
NOTE: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Re-check to ensure that there are no tight spots on
any of the chains. Replace chaincase.
